Here's a very nice mid-engine car with the S4 Mendeola sequential shifting transaxle.  With this kind of horsepower the S4 is the ideal setup. 
This LS1 with super-charger develops loads of horsepower.  The S4 can handle up to 750HP in the sand and can even be shifted by wire using an aftermarket paddle shifter.  If you need something more, check out the new S4D with 11.5" ring gear which handles up to 900HP in sand applications.
